MANDALAY, MYANMAR — January, 2008 — With increasing globalisation and a shortage of skilled labour, career opportunities in the field of hotel and catering are not only limited within Myanmar but growing internationally as well, especially in the Middle-East and South-East Asia. Chindwin College is launching Certificate Programmes in Café & Restaurant Operations and Lodging and Motel Operations from February 2008 to train and develop budding hoteliers through “learning by doing”. Curriculum is structured to provide the right blend of essential theory and “real life” practical lessons including proficiency in the use of computerized hotel management software and Point-of-Sale (POS) systems for restaurants and cafes.
